By blending the history of US taxation with modern culture, The State Revenue Stamp Series has begun to take form.

 

These stamps were used as a means of collecting money for various state taxed items. When examined, we can extrapolate small pieces of US State history.

 

For each state, I am intertwining a fresh format with the original stamp. The redesigned version’s will include state relevant contemporary issues, political satire, state iconography, and popular culture.

 

These pictorial additions will be accompanied by alterations such as color change, printing format, altered layout structure, and imagery size.

 

Each state represented will incorporate these alterations in a unique composition, with the objective of doing one piece for each US state.
